Summary of all foods in Hubei

Updated: Jul 3, 2019

Hubei is one of the largest provinces and one of the most populous provinces in China. There are many kinds of food here, because there are many cities in Hubei. Next I want to recommend some Hubei food that I think is very delicious.

Hot Dry Noodles

Hot Dry Noodles is a traditional dish of Wuhan, the capital of the Hubei province in central China. It has a history in Chinese food culture for 80 years, and it is unique because the noodles are not in soup like most other Asian style noodles. The hot dry noodles are made of soda water, topped with sesame sauce, supplemented with chopped green onion, spicy radish and other ingredients, which are cheap and delicious.

It is the most significant, famous and popular breakfast food in Wuhan, often sold in street carts and restaurants in residential and business areas. If you go to Wuhan, you will definitely see a lot of people standing in front of the street cart in the morning.

Doupi

Doupi is a famous traditional snack in Wuhan. It has a history of 400 years. It tastes salty, and the outer layer is fried with mung bean powder mixed with egg yolk and the lower layer is made of glutinous rice mixed with marinated rice. The bamboo shoots, the meat and the mustard in it are delicious.

Its cooking process is very interested. You can watch the video to understand it!

Xiangyang beef noodles

Xiangyang Beef Noodle is one of the favorite breakfasts of Hubei people. It is characterized by spicy and delicious. Beef noodles are easily to cook: after boiling the soup, put noodles into the pot, boil it, then add the sesame oil to it. Then add the beef, spicy and other condiments.

The soup used to cook noodles is beef bone soup, which gives the noodles a unique taste.

Liangxia

Liangxia means cold shrimp in Chinese. The name sounds weird. When I first knew it, I thought it was made of shrimp. But in fact it is cooked with rice pulp and leaked into the cold water basin with a colander. Not only does it sound strange, but it is also very strange in shape. Because it has big tail, like a shrimp, it is named by shrimp, and then the brown sugar water is placed. The taste of Liangxia is smooth, like jelly. But in fact, it is a kind of beverage in Wuhan.
